It is determined by the amount of residual sugar in the wine after fermentation. Wines can range from dry to sweet<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>acidity;<\/strong> acidity in wine can be described as fresh, tart or sour. Wines with higher acidity work with a lighter body because they seem &#8220;squirt&#8221;. If you prefer a wine that is richer and rounder, you will enjoy slightly less acidity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>tannin<\/strong>; tannins are naturally occurring compounds found in many natural sources, including grapes. They contribute to the bitterness, astringency and complexity of the wine. Tannins can also affect the color of the wine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>alcohol;<\/strong> alcohol level can affect the weight and body of a wine. It can range from as low as 5.5% to as high as 20% ABV (alcohol).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>the body<\/strong>; this refers to the weight of the wine in your mouth and can be light, medium or full bodied.
